DEVOTION OF HANUMAN
Height of the devotion of Hanuman towards Rama was projected at the time of coronation, when Sita taking out a necklace of precious gems, handed it over to Hanuman, in recognition of his past devotion and service. Indeed, Hanuman was possessed of high spirit, fame, sincerity, devotion, prowess, modesty, morality, valour, might and intelligence. He, with that necklace, shone like a hill surrounded by white fleecy clouds.
After getting such a precious necklace, Hanuman, according to Krittivasa Ramayana, started in vain searching for Rama in the gems breaking them one by one. Ultimately He tore open his chest to exhibit the fact that the name of Rama was enshrined therein. This sight of Rama's presence in the heart of Hanuman impressed the audience immensely.
